A study was done and has found that more women than ever before are starting off their pregnancies with diabetes, while the numbers of women who develop gestational diabetes remain the same.
This is important because it's verifying the fact that more people are developing diabetes. These women had it before they conceived or were at the very least pre-diabetic.
It's further evidence that we as a society are not taking care of ourselves like we should be, and for most of us it's a simple matter of diet and exercise. Diabetes can be a serious problem during pregnancy and does affect the baby. If you are thinking of or trying to get pregnant take care of your body to ensure a healthy pregnancy and baby.
