PREVENTION

Prevention Magazine has what looks like a wonderful new "30 day diabetic diet plan". It's full of tips, recipes, and a day by day 4 week menu. It features a lot of fiber filled foods to keep you feeling fuller longer and gives you the percentages of carbohydrates, fats, and protein that the plan will give you.

The recipes look delicious and the plan says it can get your glucose down and keep it leveled. The thing I really like about it is that it does allow you to "cheat" 3 times a month with regular goodies as long as you stick with the portion control they give.

Their is a list of foods that you should eat every day, a list of foods you should throw away, and a list that you can have only occasionally.

The only thing I see wrong with the diet is that like many other diets the recipes and menus need a lot of ingredients and I know that many people can't afford a big shopping trip, especially if it's just for themselves and they still have a family to feed. Now you can put your whole family on this diet as far as the recipes and meals go and it would be healthy for them to eat this way even if they do not have diabetes.

As I see it this diet will make you loose weight, have you feeling better and get your blood sugar under control.
