If your diabetes is under control you can have a drink once a day. A drink is considered one-12 ounce beer, 5 ounces of wine, or 1 1/2 ounce of liquor.
Try to use mixers like diet soda, seltzer water, tomato juice, and mineral water, you get the idea. If you are a beer drinker, drink light beer.
Since mixed drinks, beer, and wine all contain carbs, you should count them into your meal plan. So that if you are having wine with dinner for example you should cut out one of your carb servings at that meal.
If your diabetes is not under control forget the alcohol. The only way to get it under control is to be good about what you eat and drink, so resign yourself to sacrificing things like alcohol till such time as your numbers are nice and steady.
