A recent study in which one group of men were asked to drink regular coffee, and another group asked to drink decaffeinated coffee an hour before eating a low sugar cereal, found that the men who consumed the caffeine had blood sugar levels of 250 times higher than the others.
Caffeine makes our bodies resistant to insulin and that causes our blood sugar levels to rise.
People who are diabetic and even pre-diabetic should avoid caffeine. Also remember that tea has as much or sometimes more caffeine than coffee. Watch the soft drinks you consume, also most have a lot of caffeine unless you buy it specifically without it.
