REVERSE ATHEROSCLEROSIS

Atherosclerosis simply put is hardening of the arteries. Diabetics are four times as likely as normal people to have this and more likely to suffer the consequences of it, heart attacks, strokes, and death.

A study that spanned over three years has been concluded and it was found that people who were given drugs, counseling, and monitoring in an aggressive attempt to lower cholesterol and blood pressure had less thickening of the arteries and in some cases, even some shrinkage of former thickening.

I lost my dear grandmother when I was fourteen. She was diabetic and had a stroke due to atherosclerosis. She died before she could leave the hospital. On some level, I believe she and everyone knew that changing her lifestyle and diet could improve her health and extend her life, however she was either unable or unwilling to do so.
