THE FAT GENE

Fifty years ago, scientists discovered a fat gene called adipose. Back then, they didn't understand how it worked but researchers today have be manipulating the gene in mice and have discovered that it works like a switch that tells the body how many fat cells and how full fat cells are before they are stored in the body.
