A study was done to find out which types of exercise would lower blood sugar the most. They took a large group of diabetics and divided them into four groups. The first group did no exercise, the second did aerobics three times a week, the third did strength training three times a week, and the fourth did both types three times a week. At two three month intervals they did an A1c test which gives you the average of your blood sugar for the last three months.
They found the group that did no exercise had no change, next came the group that did aerobics, they decreased the sugar by 0.51%, the people that did only strength training decreased their sugar level by 0.38%. The group that did both types had a decrease of 0.97% !
This just serves as further proof that the right kind of exercise and a good diet can keep this disease at bay!
