Here in the Midwest, where I live, the temperature is starting to drop with the seasons. If walking is your exercises of choice, you may want to consider getting a treadmill for your home, or join a gym close to your home.
Taking a brisk walk is healthy and refreshing, but when the snow starts to fall and the heavy rains comes, it may not be so enjoyable.
The most important thing to remember is don't give up the walking. The exercise is invaluable to your health and well being.
This of course is a loose estimate, but a one hundred thirty pound person will burn approx. four calories a minute walking. The faster you walk the more calories you'll burn, just as the more you weigh will also increase the number of calories burned.
The most important thing is that you will be using up excess sugar in your body and that with a proper diet will keep your sugar under control.
